Wander Hour

Sherry and I arrived at around 11 AM and there was already a 60 min. wait to get inside. Now you're probably thinking, "where's the tea house?" The cool thing about this place is that it is hidden behind a beautiful flower shop. Its concept is to provide a serene environment where we can live with flowers every day. The tea house definitely lives up to this concept and the scent of flowers is very delightful.

We had some lovely rose tea. The fragrance of rose was wonderful and the taste was very light. It complimented our meals perfectly.

I ordered the potato gratin with salad and french toast on the side. The potatoes were neatly sliced into small pieces, combined with a soft-boiled egg, and topped with cumin seeds. The salad at first glance looks like nothing special, but the dressing gives it a very special taste. It is a little bit tart similar to Italian dressing yet it was nicely mixed with the fragrance of flowers. The french toast was also wonderfully made, topped off with cottage cheese and fresh berries.

Sherry ordered a tea sandwich with a salad on the side. The soft white bread is topped with cauliflower and spinach all melted together with cheese and a slice of ham. The salad on the side is again spruced with their specially made dressing.

For dessert, we picked out the rose jelly and rose parfait which were not only beautiful to look at but also a pleasure to taste. And they really did taste like how you would think roses would taste like in a delicious way! They were also topped with rose buds which we did not eat, haha.

The parfait is definitely my favorite between the two. It is perfectly mixed with fluffy whipped cream, rose jelly, milky ice cream, raspberries, and cornflakes at the bottom. I would definitely come back just for this. 

Overall, if you ever happen to be around the Omotesando area, I highly recommend coming over here for lunch or a light snack! They also have two other locations in Kichijyoji and Akasaka. Just keep in mind that the wait time can range from 30 mins to an hour.
